On June 12, 2012, while conducting a dismounted patrol in Maiwand, Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device detonated near the men of 1st Platoon, Company B, 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. Following the explosion, Spc. Chris Anderson's life would forever be changed.
