As the scope of Hurricane Sandy's devastation began to unfold, U.S. Army North prepositioned coordinating elements in the most devastated areas to help support local, state and federal response efforts. To date, troops have rescued more than 2,000 people from flood zones, delivered 144,000 meals and provided transportation for first responders to restore power and provide critical supplies.
