Maj. Gen. Jimmie O. Keenan became assumed command of the U.S. Army Public Health Command during a traditional military ceremony Jan. 27, 2012, at Aberdeen Proving Ground-North, Md. She is the first two-star general to head the USAPHC or its predecessor organizations, the Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine and the Army Veterinary Command.
