The Army provided a long-awaited presentation, Dec. 3, when a Southeast Arizona veteran received the Purple Heart Medal for a head wound sustained 47 years earlier when the former Soldier, then a specialist 4, was assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion (Mechanized) 2nd Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam.
