They were Soldiers once, Soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. They stood straight and strong and proud. They were brave, heroes even. Some volunteered. Some were drafted. They fought in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. They served in combat, they served in occupation forces and they served stateside.
