SOUTHWEST ASIA -- After more than 100 days of hard urban combat, Iraqi officials announced the liberation of eastern Mosul Tuesday.
While clearance operations are still ongoing, the Iraqi security forces control all areas inside the city east of the Tigris River, the east bank of the river around all five bridges crossing the Tigris River, Mosul University and the Ninevah Ruins.

Even during a deployment to the Middle East Soldiers of 77th Combat Aviation Brigade, Arkansas, Army National Guard, unleash a healthy amount of their inner child by decorating and creating feelings and scenes of the Yuletide season. It does not hurt that there is a small competition between the different sections. Soldiers are competitive if nothing else. The prize is merely bragging rights, but that is enough.
