When a New York State Park Police boat ran aground 1,000 feet from the brink of Niagara Falls during a rescue mission, New York officials turned to the CH-47 aviators of the Detachment 1, Company B ,3rd Battalion, 126th Aviation to retrieve the stranded vessel before it plunged over the natural wonder, damaging the falls and interfering with navigation.
